K:
I know that it is important to have enthusiasm and make reading books exciting!
Our job is to teach children to have a love/passion for reading, and that
starts at a very young age.
W:
I learned that using pictures is technically reading, and I thought that was
very interesting. The child may see the word in the text but not understand
what it is until they look and analyze the picture.
L:
I think incorporating picture books into at least a weekly routine or maybe
even starting off your independent reading program or the students’ library
time would be a great warm-up activity to get the students engaged and excited.
S:
I would share this information in my reading of picture books whether I am in a
classroom or library setting.
